* Try Something New •--Yesterday I went to a Ninja Warrior course similar to the TV show, just to give it a go!It was so much fun and very challenging on the body!-This one I couldn't complete, I am just not quite close enough to that next wheel - but next time I will do it! 👊🏼 #bepersistent -Although this is right up my street, I know this isn't everybody's idea of fun! REP RANGES WHATS RIGHT FOR YOUR GOAL?•How do you train? Do you use different methods for different muscles? Do they all need to be the same?•There are general "rules" when it comes to rep ranges when training however we're all different and this stuff isn't an exact science. •Anywhere between 1 and 6 reps is usually a strength phase of training. 5 sets of 5 is common or you may try to find your 1 rep max (1RM) in many of the big lifts. These would be heavy weights. •6 - 12 reps is usually referred to as the hypertrophy range which basically means muscle growth. Many programs hover in the 8-10 bracket with a medium to heavy weight for the client.•Anything from 12 + is known as more endurance based training. Usually a medium weight and often performed quickly to promote a blood pump the that muscle. •However, we have many muscle fibres in each muscle and we also have different types of muscle fibres that respond to different activities. WHAT IS YOUR ACTUAL GOAL?•Many people would say their goal is to lose weight - but is it actually? •When clients tell me that their goal is weight loss, I always ask them why? Do you care about that number? If you looked the way you'd envisioned in your mind, do you think you'd care about that number? - if no, then is your goal really a weight based one? •Let's look into body fat percentage. Measurements. Photos. We want to look and feel good by our own standards, so that is what we'll measure! •Maybe your goal is a fitness or health based one. You want to run 5k? - Do you? Or do you want to be able to run around with your kids without feeling out of breath? - that's your actual goal. 🏃🏻‍♀️•Breakdown your goal! You may have one big goal, but that's only achieved in smaller steps, so let's set some smaller goals! It could be weight loss, body fat reduction, inches, fitness level, new PB's, it could even be overcoming a fear or entering the free weights area - whatever it is.....set yourself a goal for just this week!•If you feel better, if your clothes fit better, increased stamina, if you have more energy or are sleeping better.....keep going, it's working! 💪🏼•Not sure what your goal is or how to monitor it?
