Bern Carnival has quickly become the third largest event of its kind in Switzerland. It starts on a Thursday, when the bear imprisoned in the Käfigturm (Prison Tower) is woken from his winter sleep by the "Ychüblete" (drumming) and released. "Guggenmusik-Cliques" (bands of carnival musicians) make the six kilometers route along Bern's arcaded promenade vibrate with their wild rhythms and noisy music.
So in love with these numerous, small canals and bridges in beautiful #venice 😍. Here you can see the Bridge of Sighs, built in baroque style: it takes its name from the fact that it connects the Doge’s Palace to the prisons. The tale says that, here, prisoners exhaled their last breath of freedom after being condemned.. Well today you might sigh, too, but only because of its beauty😉
