‘... war is no strife To the dark house and the detested wife’ (All’s Well That Ends Well, 2.3) Today I was lucky enough to be invited to the dress rehearsal of All’s Well That Ends Well at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse. I had never seen a production of the play before and it was excellent. The theatre is always one of the most intimate and beautiful, especially by candlelight, and it really suited the darkness of the subject matter. The acting was superb, especially the actress playing Helena and the actor playing the aged King. It is rare to see the play performed, especially to such a high caliber, and so I would highly recommend you see it while it lasts!
