Inspired by the book "20 big trucks..." - Continuing patternsSince F started looking at patterns in kindergarten, he loves to point them out wherever we go. Seeing all these trucks lined up in the book made me want to try out a truck pattern. I'm also aiming to upload more free resources to the website, so I whipped up a little activity for him to try. I'll stick it on there for download this week (link in bio section). I used some of E's favourite trucks, thinking he might show an interest in what his brother was doing, even though the patterning was a over his head. I like it when he watches his brother and tries to copy him. I made up a few short patterns as well as loose cards with extra trucks for him to complete the patterns. Apparently these were all way too easy for him! So he asked if he could make some for me to continue. I said absolutely, since creating an activity is just as good as doing one, if not better. He thought carefully as he placed his truck cards down and repeated the pattern out loud to check he was getting it right. He even asked his brother for advice as to which card to put next when starting a new pattern. They worked well together and really enjoyed watching mommy complete their activities!
