I got back into dollhouse miniatures a couple years ago and love the creative outlet they provide. I repurpose, make, paint, work with wood, and design. And how easy it is to combine miniatures with teaching. You can make miniatures out of shoe boxes, plastic bins, or cardboard scraps. Studying the Middle Ages? Build a castle and keep. Ancient Egypt? Craft a pyramid. Westward Expansion? Build a log house. Mongolia? Make a mini yurt. There are as many ideas as there are years in history. We've made some of these, trying to be creative and inventive. Super fun way to combine learning and play-off boys and girls.
