Tried out a new place this Saturday - #tannurcafe in #kalyannagar. I had always passed by this place on my way to the local #Fabindia and been interested with their unique decor! Check out the #handsculpture on their front lawn in the other pics. The ambience certainly did not disappoint... inside was nice and cosy with comfortable seating and nice music - though it did feel a little shabby at times. While initially the slow service was quite irritating (and also the fact that the waiter would repeatedly come back saying that such and such items from the menu were not available... even simple lemonade! 😝 and that too after we had inquired at least 2-3 Times about them!) we were really impressed with the quality of the food. We ordered the usual #crispychillibabycorn as a starter and loved the crisp bits of #sweetcorn in a lovely sticky sweet and spicy sauce. Next, for the mains, we chose to have Indian- regular #butternaan and #garlicnaan, #jeerarice, #chatpatapaneer, #punjabikoftacurry, #dalmakhani and #lazeezchicken for me, the sole non-vegetarian in the group. The #garlicnaan was the standout dish for me, I’ve rarely had such awesome #naan in any restaurant out here! It was crisp and flaky and full of flavour! I could (probably) eat cartloads of it by myself! The paneer and kofta were quite tasty and so was the dal - according to the rest of my family. The jeera rice was really nice too - loved the crackly jeera with #curryleaves and the delicious #longgrainedrice. The #chickenlazeez was quite tasty as well. The food did not sit heavy on our stomachs and everyone loved the flavour!
