#islandgirl what my mom calls me 🌺 No this is not New Year New Me, This is actually the Old Me. No more dark hair. Messed my natural sandy hair color up a few years ago dying it dark brown and black because when modeling I was told I needed darker hair, I looked to exotic in my natural state😒. I was asked to blend in, tone me down, questioned if my eyes were real, ummm yes, if my lashes were mine, my lip shape, every feature, even my skin tone. Yes yes yes. Except I wear extensions. What mentor tells someone to blend in, IDIOT. Then several movie agents told me I wasn’t black enough. An agency once told me I was also to exotic for Tyler Perry type movies 🤷🏽♀️I was younger, thought they all knew what they were saying but I couldn’t change who I naturally was. Mom told me not to do it, it will never be th same color. Being a stylist I should have known better, she was right. Never was able to get the color right again without cutting it all off🤦🏽♀️ So Ash Blonde with gradual highlights overtime is the closest that I can get 🙂 My mom forbids it dark brown or black, Coach is the same now. I have my great great grandmothers Native Indian, African American and Causcian genes, I’m her twin daughters generations back. Back to the OLD ME, the born stubborn me, never blending in, never conforming, breaking rules and making my own.
