SITTING GIVES ME BACK PAIN |I often tell my patients to take frequent micro breaks in the office and be more aware of their posture. But I catch myself doing things I tell people not to do. Sorry guys 😅•So I’ve been sitting down in front of the computer a lot lately and haven’t been moving as much as I should be. I started developing lower back discomfort with tightness through the hip flexors. Occasionally I get numbness in my foot too. Is this coincidence? No. Prolong sitting with bad posture puts a lot of pressure on the spine. It changes the way your muscle functions too (certain muscles will become tighter and other important muscles become under active) this will cause imbalances within the body. Not only that, working on my computer I started becoming more irritable and fatigued. Is this coincidence? No. As I forgot to breath in regularly, I realised that I skipped a breath.•So what did I do? I started taking more micro breaks, started to walk my dog more, took 2 mins to just focus on my breathing, stretched more, ramped up my core activation exercises, and get weekly chiropractic adjustments. Do you know what happened? My back pain reduced.•Is this all coincidence? No it is not. Things happen for a reason.
