We are raising generations in this system, a tunnel vision system, that views success in terms of money. Pressuring them from their young years in school to flow through the system. It all begins at the age of 5, the next 13 years are spent sitting in desks 5 days a week for 8 hours everyday. We learn out of textbooks, focused on standards and the single right answer. Twelfth grade comes, the flow continues into university. With college comes freedom, freedom to choose who to be and what to do, yet instead of following our passion, we are told to follow what makes us successful, what will make us the most money. So there is another 4 years of our life spent sitting in classrooms, collecting knowledge to get a job. Most drool over the jobs that make them a lot of money, putting their passions in the very back of the mind, in order to focus on living a successful life in terms of our society's definition.Take a look at the world around you. How many people wake up every morning dreading the idea of going to work? Why do we have such high rates of suicide and mental illness? The answer, we have too many people not following what they love doing. This planet we live on is vast, the amount of possibilities are endless. Create your own definition of success because money will only get you so far. There is no point living a life that makes you unhappy, life is supposed to be fun, and everything you do is supposed to give you joy. There is no time limit on education and there are multiple ways to learn. We have the ability to learn everyday, your whole life is one huge adventure of growth.
