Lemon crinkles. One of the first cookies I've baked and loved at first taste. I've always wanted to make guava crinkles but I'm not sure how to pull that off. With calamansi crinkles, it's probably best to make calamansi extract from scratch so there wouldn't be a need for calamansi zest in the recipe. (the green zest turns cookies into an unappealing sort of green --- and this cookie relies on the zest for both flavor and color). Every now and then I get asked to make these, for which I'm glad. This cookie will always bring me back to those days when my kiddo was still a baby and would smell a tub full of these and gleefully ignore it. Nowadays, he's a bit greedy and is annoyed when he hears that a tub of lemon crinkles isn't for him.
