Keep it simple, keep it HONEST.-I used to make music with the mentality that I need a really complex composition to really get my point across and have people respect what I do as an artist. I thought this way untill I started to tire my self out with making sure everything in my song or beat was perfect. -Just within the last year or 2 I have been valuing the thing I used to confuse with laziness, which is SIMPLICITY. I now realize its sometimes harder to keep things simple because I can easily think of a million things that would be interesting to add to my art but at the end of the day its best just to put down whats necessary for the song and excluding the extras. -In doing this you are forced to be HONEST with yourself. What does the song need? What is taking away from the main idea.
