The autumn garden is a thing of wonder. Especially for anyone interested in natural botanical skincare. It's the season of the seed! Harvesting of those precious berries, nuts, pips, and grains that get distilled and pressed into magical skin food. So what's it with the thistle then? This isn't the exact same one, but was resplendent in its purple blue hues so we snapped it in a 17th century Scottish garden recently. But it's the nearest photo we have to the milk thistle, whose oil is a star ingredient in our night serum for her. Containing Silymarin, the milk thistle has antioxidant benefits which help the skin's defences again environmental stress factors. Along with Vitamin E and fatty acids, milk thistle seed oil is a great soothing moisturizer. Ideal for sensitive skin. Not bad either for the man who's had a bit of a close shave!
