Natural detox: Immune systemYour immune systems primary objective is to seek out and eliminate ANY and ALL foreign substances from our body. Our immune system goes to work in our blood, lymphatic system and in small spaces between our cells. We can help support it by making sure we have a good intake of zinc, Vit A, C and other antioxidants!.Man made detox: TeatoxYou’ve probably seen a few different ‘flat belly teas’ advertised on Instagram and wondered what they actually do? They make claims such as speed up metabolism (false), help with bloating (yes...but wait), help with indigestion (nah) and that they can gently remove toxins from digestive and urinary systems…( 🙄 give me a break).Have you tried these teas? I’d love to hear your honest experience because I’m guessing it went something like this: It was quite a nice tasting tea that you sipped on happily before bed, you had a good nights sleep and then woke up to intense stomach cramps and a (literally) burning desire to go to the bathroom, then for the next three hours you had repeated trips to the loo where you wondered how on earth you had anything left to poop. These teas typically contain a natural laxative and/or fiber which is causing the previous symptoms! They are absolutely NOT speeding up your metabolism. It helps with bloating because it is pulling water into your gut and then forcing you to poop it all out, another alternative is to drink more water... The one time hit of fiber is helping move everything through your gut, but a long term fix for poor digestion is much smarter than a tea. As for the removing toxins part…well you already know that fiber and your gut micro biome is going to do that job, not tea!
