Instead, the legitimacy of a charismatic creative director is what increasingly stands or falls a brand on. The director offers an aesthetic brand ideology. Luxury retail draws on the principles of art and magic to assemble the charismatic persona of the creative director and to transfer his/her aesthetic ideology to the brand. If you know that your ideal customers are highly intelligent - discerning and meticulous in their decisions - then you're going to have to let them exercise that intellect..Am I talking about weekly IQ tests or regular quizzes? Not at all..Am I suggesting that you create competitions to decide who, among them, is the smartest? Absolutely not..What I am suggesting is that you build an element into your branding strategy (and your relationship building) that gives your ideal customers the chance to create their own story, to make their own decisions, and to have a stake in the journey they will take with your brand..Allow your highly intelligent followers to have power over their experience with your brand, and the pride and accomplishment they feel will fuel their relationship with your brand for years to come..Here's how I suggest you make that happen:.Don't give away every detail up front. Instead, leave some things to the imagination and reveal them in time..Give interested parties opportunities to learn more about your brand on their own time, instead of imparting all information to all followers..Give them credit (and the chance to take credit) for unearthing gems about your brand, so they'll be more inclined to tell others about the discoveries they've made..When you're building a brand, it's important to remember that your ideal customers are integral parts of the brand.
